SUMMARY:Announcement of the Program “Commercial Proof of Concept – Energy” - Webinar Organization
DESCRIPTION:he Research Innovation Foundation (RIF) has announced the new funding program “Commercial Proof of Concept – Energy” with a budget of €1.6 million\, aimed at accelerating innovation in the energy sector. \nThe program focuses on: \n\nAccelerating innovation in the fields of energy production\, storage\, transmission\, and distribution.\nAddressing challenges such as integration into the energy grid\, use of renewable sources\, and enhancing the resilience of the energy system.\nSupporting the transition from pilot applications to commercial readiness.\nStrengthening research and development for the upgrade and optimization of technologies.\nImproving the performance\, reliability\, and cost-effectiveness of both new and existing technologies to ensure their sustainability and widespread adoption.\n\nThe program allows businesses to assess whether the technologies or know-how they are developing can be commercially applied in industrial settings\, with a focus on technologies addressing challenges in energy production\, storage\, transmission\, and distribution. \nTo qualify for funding\, research projects must focus on experimental development of new technologies with commercial potential. The program is part of Pillar I “Smart Growth” within the Smart Specialization Strategy 2023-2030 and must align with the goals of REPowerEU\, which focus on transitioning to clean energy sources and enhancing energy security. \nThe maximum funding per project is €200\,000. Interested parties can find more information at the following link: https://t.ly/3xQsR. \nProposals should be submitted via the IRIS portal\, with the deadline being October 25\, 2024\, at 13:00. \nAdditionally\, RIF will organize a webinar on the 4th of September 2024\, at 10:00 AM for the presentation of the call and to address any questions regarding the regulations and participation requirements. The webinar will be held online via the ZOOM platform. The mission will focus on green industries and will include participation in the Europe-China 2024 Fair\, a program of business meetings\, networking events\, seminars\, visits to industrial parks to Shanghai\, Suzhou and Chengdu. \n\nMission dates: From 22 September to 27 September 2024.\nLocation: Shanghai\, Suzhou\, Chengdu\nApplication deadline: Friday 28 June 2024.\n\nProgramme highlights: \nWith this trade mission\, you will get an opportunity to: \n\nParticipate in the 18th Europe-China Business and Technology Cooperation Fair in Chengdu.\nVisit the Sino-European Industrial Parks in Suzhou.\nMeet with well-established and successful European SMEs in Shanghai.\nJoin expert talks on China’s economic outlook and market trends.\nTake part in technical trainings on export procedures and market regulations.\nEstablish relationships with potential partners in China.\nHave face-to-face meetings leading to possible business opportunities.\n\nWho can apply? \nThis call for applications is open to SME owners and individuals working for SMEs\, start-ups\, or clusters and industry associations from the European Union and countries associated to the Single Market Programme\, active in the following industries: \n\nGreen technologies\nRenewable energy sources and energy storage\nEnvironmental services\nWater treatment\nSustainable equipment manufacturing\nRecycling\nWaste reduction\nAdvanced materials\nGreen service providers along the supply chain\nOther green development solutions.\n\nCost: \nThe EU SME Centre’s services are funded by the European Union and are free of charge to the mission’s participants.
