EIC ACCELERATOR PROPOSAL WRITING WORKSHOP

We are delighted to invite you to the “EIC Accelerator” Proposal Writing Workshop, that will take place on 26 April 2023, 9:00 AM – 17:00 PM. The agenda can be found below.

OBJECTIVES:

The event’s objectives are to increase the capacity of potential proposers of the Horizon Europe EIC Accelerator Programme at tackling the different aspects of the proposal, with presentations as well as incorporating interactive practical sessions.

TARGET GROUP:

Company representatives who are interested in submitting proposals to the EIC Accelerator Calls for Proposals, seeking funding to scale-up high impact innovations with the potential to create new markets or disrupt existing ones. This training is especially suited for those who already have basic knowledge of the Programme, have participated in the EIC Info days, have already submitted a short proposal to the EIC Accelerator Programme and are preparing their full proposal or have participated in the national innovation programmes.

SPEAKERS:

Dr Benjamin Hötzer is a physicist with expertise on biophysics and optics and a certified project manager. He has 10+ years of experience in national and international funding schemes with special focus on the EIC Accelerator and its predecessor programmes. Dr. Hötzer is interested in supporting companies bringing disruptive solutions to the market especially in the field of green tech.

We would like to inform you about the Biotech Cluster / SME mission to Japan.

The mission is organized alongside the “Bio Japan Expo”

  • Mission dates: 10-13 October 2023

One day before the fair, on 11 October, the participants will be able to attend a partnering event the “European Biotech and Pharma Partnering Conference” that will take place in Osaka during which pre-arranged B2B meetings will be organized with companies from Kansai regions.

From 11 to 13 October, the participants will have the opportunity to exhibit at the “BioJapan” Expo in Yokohama, identify relevant key contacts, benefit from face-to-face meetings and gain market knowledge about the Biotech industry in Japan.

Targets:

The program targets EU SMEs and clusters active in the following sectors:

  • Drug discovery and drug discovery support – Regenerative medicine
  • Therapeutic agents, diagnostic agents – AI and IoT technologies related to 1.-3
  • Digital Medicine (AI-assisted Drug Development, Drug-Device combinations etc.)
  • Digital Therapeutics (Non-pharmacological therapy systems, App-device combinations)

Costs:

The EU-Japan Centre covers all costs directly related to the mission: the booth at the trade fair, transfer costs from Osaka to Yokohama, partnering activities.

The participating company is expected to cover travel, accommodation and living expenses. The EU-Japan Centre will offer a €600 grant to help cover above costs.

Program’s objectives:

  • Identify relevant key contacts (decision makers, R&D centers, potential partners etc)
  • Establish relationships with potential partners (trade and technology)
  • Benefit from face-to-face meetings leading to possible business opportunities
  • Gain knowledge about market structure, sector analysis, Japanese business culture and policy

EIT Manufacturing Info Day @ Cyprus

We are delighted to invite you to the first EIT Manufacturing Info Day @ Cyprus, that will take place at A.G. Leventis Gallery on Monday April 3rd. The agenda can be found attached in the email.

EIT Manufacturing is a Knowledge and Innovation Community within the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) – that connects the leading manufacturing actors in Europe. EIT Manufacturing’s main goal is to bring European stakeholders focused on manufacturing together in innovation ecosystems that add unique value to European products, processes and services and inspire the creation of globally competitive and sustainable manufacturing.

Within 2022, EIT Manufacturing inaugurated its Co-Location Center (CLC) South East, based in Athens, Greece that serves eight countries of South East Europe, including Cyprus.

EIT Manufacturing Info Day @ Cyprus is co-organized by EIT Manufacturing CLC South East and CYENS Centre of Excellence targeting on introducing EIT Manufacturing CLC South East, its activities and offered opportunities to the local manufacturing innovation ecosystem.

The event will include two parts:

  • Part 1 – Opening remarks and keynote speeches from local manufacturing innovation experts and EIT Manufacturing representatives
  • Part 2 – Workshop for discussing and addressing the challenges and the opportunities in the local/Cyprian ecosystem

Two new calls for proposals of €6 million for the support of Cypriot enterprises

“Research in Enterprises”: The aim is to intensify the participation of Cypriot businesses in R&I activities, with a budget specifically for businesses without prior essential participation.

We would like to inform you that the Research and Innovation Foundation of Cyprus (RIF) has announced two new calls with a total budget of €6 million, thus continuing its practical support to the Research and Innovation ecosystem of Cyprus.

The calls are part of the “Research in Enterprises” Program of the Research and Innovation Foundation of Cyprus and are an opportunity for SMEs and large Cypriot businesses to create new or substantially improved products, services or methods of production of high-added value. The ultimate aim of the Program is to intensify the participation of Cypriot enterprises in Research & Innovation activities.

To enhance the capacity of a greater number of enterprises to innovate, a budget of €1 million will be allocated to enterprises that have not previously submitted proposals as Contractors to the Foundation under the Foundation’s R&I Programs.

The maximum funding per project is €200.000.

The Submission of Proposals is made through the IRIS gate of the RIF and the deadline is April 24th, 2023 at 13:00. It is noted that the calls are funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility of the Next Generation EU.

European Innovation Council Info Days

Information Event on the topic “European Innovation Council Info Days” 4 – 5 April 2023

We would like to inform you that the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) is organising an information event entitled “European Innovation Council Info Days” between 4-5 April 2023. The event will take place at the Cleopatra City Center Hotel.

On 4 April the EIC Pathfinder & EIC Transition programmes will be presented and on 5 April 2023 the presentations will focus on the EIC Accelerator and as such will only involve representatives of companies or mid-caps, which are potential beneficiaries of the programme.

The event will provide information on the individual programmes under the work programme of the “European Innovation Council”, which is a major novelty under Pillar 3 of “Horizon Europe”. The aim is for participants to understand the requirements of the programmes through specific presentations by EIC evaluators.

Please note that the event will be held in English and participation is free of charge.

CYPRUS – POLISH BUSINESS FORUM ON IT & CYBERSECURITY

In order to strengthen and deepen the economic and business relations between Cyprus and Poland, the CCCI, in cooperation with the Polish-Cypriot Chamber of Commerce in Cyprus and with the support of the Enterprise Europe Network of Cyprus (EEN), are organizing a Business Forum entitled “IT FOR SECURITY AND SECURITY FOR IT,” which will take place on 25 April 2023 at 10:30 am on the 2nd floor of the CCCI.

The aim of the Business Forum is for the participating companies to be informed about the current situation, new developments and technological solutions in the field of Cybersecurity so that their operation in the new digital environment will be more effective, efficient and secure.

The Forum will conclude with the organization of business meetings between Polish and Cypriot companies with the aim of expanding trade and investment relations between the two countries.

It should be noted that the Business Forum will be attended by six companies from Poland interested in meetings with Cypriot businesses. A list with the profiles of the Polish companies will follow. The Program of the event will be announced in the coming days.

EU-Japan Green Transition Matchmaking 2023

In partnership with many stakeholders in Europe and Japan, the EU-Japan Centre organises an “EU-Japan Green Transition Matchmaking” for the second year in a row.
The event is for companies as well as research organisations from Japan and EU interested in building business partnerships that contribute to a low-carbon society.

The EU-Japan Green Transition online platform offers opportunities for matchmaking on-site in Tokyo during the Smart Energy Week from 15-17 March and online from 22-24 March 2023.

Matchmaking beyond these dates will be possible until August 2023.

The platform will also be open to hosting webinars related to the Green Transition topic. Already more than 200 organisations are registered on the platform.
