Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Grant Fund – SME Fund 2024

Enterprise Europe Network Cyprus, as part of its activities, informs Cypriot SMEs about the possibilities offered by the EU SME Fund for financial support for their intellectual property (IP) protection activities. In particular, the SME Fund supports enterprises to protect different assets such as trademarks, designs, patents and plant varieties. Grants are awarded in the form of four “vouchers” covering the following activities:

  • IP Scan / IP Enforcement
  • Trademarks and Designs
  • Patents
  • Community Plant Variety

Applications are submitted via the online system of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) which is responsible for implementing the SME Fund.

Successful R & I in Europe 2024 / “11th European Networking Event”

The European Office Cyprus as a member of the Enterprise Europe Network Cyprus wishes to invite you to participate at the event “Successful R & I in Europe 2024 / 11th European Networking Event” that will take place on February 15 and 16, 2024 in Dusseldorf, Germany.

For the eleventh time, the conference invites researchers from all over the world to find new research and innovation (R&D) partners for Horizon Europe projects. About 300 participants from more than 20 countries are expected to attend the event. About 100 presenters will inform about their projects. The event addresses in particular universities and research institutes as well as companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises. Participants are invited to give a short presentation of ideas and/or results with a focus on Horizon Europe calls, where a budget of approx. € 95.5 billion is available up until 2027.

Furthermore, we would like to point out the opportunity to leverage the “Horizon Europe Travel Grants” Call, which supports individuals from Organizations established in the Republic of Cyprus in participating in networking events organized abroad, with the aim to encourage their participation in proposals to be submitted in the context of Horizon Europe, the EU’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation 2021-2027.

International Mobility Days 2023 Vienna, Austria

New Automated Import Systems of the Customs & Excise Department – (CY-UCC-AIS – Automated Import System) – Technical Specifications

The Customs & Excise Department informs its financial partners that the technical specifications for the communication of Business-to-Government (B2G) with the economic operators of the new Automated Import System (CY-UCC-AIS), which will be put into production operation in November 2023, have been issued and published.

The specifications have been posted in the thematic link “Technical Information” of the webpage “THESEAS” of the Customs & Excise Department.

Economic operators interested in developing direct B2G communication of their systems with the Automated Import System may send any questions/comments to the email helpdesk.cyprus@customs.mof.gov.cy, until 2 June 2023.

In order to answer questions and provide further clarifications, workshops will follow in which all interested economic operators and their technical teams will be invited to participate. The dates of the workshops will be published at a later stage.

 

ANNOUNCEMENT BY THE CUSTOMS & EXCISE DEPARTMENT   

UPGRADING OF ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS OF THE CUSTOMS DEPARTMENT

We inform you that, in the context of upgrading the electronic systems of the Customs Department, the application for access to the Import Control System has been updated.
With a view to the uninterrupted use of the application, all affected parties should uninstall the existing application and install the upgraded version.

In detail, the steps to be followed for the above procedures are included in the Manual “GUIDE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF AN APPLICATION FOR ACCESS TO THE IMPORT CONTROL SYSTEM” which is posted on the Website of THESEAS – “Technical Information.”
