EU Public Consultation on International Data Flows and Data Management

The CCCI, as Coordinator of the Enterprise Europe Network Cyprus (EEN) would like to inform you that the European Commission is conducting a public consultation aimed at identifying the challenges faced by European businesses in managing and transferring data internationally.

The consultation focuses on issues such as:

  • restrictions on access to data located outside the European Union,
  • difficulties in transferring data into the EU,
  • risks related to access by third countries to sensitive or business-critical data,
  • dependencies on non-EU digital infrastructures, cloud services and technology

This initiative forms part of the European Union’s broader efforts to strengthen security, resilience and strategic autonomy in the field of data and digital infrastructure.

The consultation is particularly relevant to:

  • businesses using cloud services or data centres located outside the EU,
  • technology companies and digital service providers,
  • financial institutions managing sensitive data,
  • companies operating internationally and transferring data between the EU and third

Interested stakeholders are invited to complete the questionnaire available through the EU Survey platform HERE

CCCI encourages all affected businesses and organisations to participate in the consultation to ensure that the experiences, concerns and needs of the business community are taken into consideration in the development of future EU policies in this area.
