The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as the coordinator of Enterprise Europe Network Cyprus, would like to inform you that the European Commission has launched a public consultation on a draft implementing regulation concerning national registers of producers of packaging and packaging waste.
The initiative aims to harmonise the registration and reporting requirements applicable to producers under Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes across EU Member States. The proposed rules seek to facilitate business compliance, improve transparency, reduce administrative burdens, and support the effective implementation of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
Main Objectives

- Define the information and reporting obligations of
- Facilitate cross-border compliance and reduce administrative
- Improve the monitoring and enforcement of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations.
The European Commission invites businesses, trade associations, public authorities, and all interested stakeholders to submit their views and suggestions.
