We are delighted to invite you to the launch of the EU–India AI Digital Innovation Access Platform, established in collaboration with the Sector Group Digital, EEN and EEN India – GBI (Global Business Inroads)
Background:
The EU–India AI & Digital Innovation Access Platform, under the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) Digital Sector Group, aims to facilitate structured collaboration between European companies, technology providers, R&D organisations, and India’s rapidly evolving digital and AI ecosystem.
This initiative is designed to support European entities in accessing India as a strategic destination for building AI capabilities, particularly through the establishment of AI-enabled Global Capability Centres (GCCs), while also enabling Indian stakeholders to collaborate with European partners on advanced AI & Digital applications, co-development, and deployment.
Beyond their traditional role as operational support centres, Global Capability Centres (GCCs) have evolved into strategic innovation hubs that enable organisations to drive enterprise AI, product engineering, intellectual property development, and greater ownership of critical technologies and business capabilities.
Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming industries globally, but enterprise-level adoption continues to face challenges related to scalability, integration, talent availability, and cost efficiency. While Europe possesses strong research capabilities and advanced AI innovations, there is increasing demand for cost-effective scaling, engineering depth, and implementation capabilities.
The next phase of GCC growth is increasingly being shaped by artificial intelligence. India offers access to a broad and expanding pool of AI, data science, cloud, engineering and cybersecurity professionals. This makes India well suited for setting up AI Centres of Excellence or AI capability centres that can develop enterprise AI solutions, accelerate automation, build reusable platforms and support AI adoption across global business functions.
India has emerged as a global hub for digital engineering, AI talent, and GCCs, with over 1,500 GCCs contributing significantly to global innovation pipelines. The country offers:
- A large and skilled AI/ML talent pool
- Mature IT and digital infrastructure
- Strong startup and innovation ecosystem
- Competitive cost structures for scaling AI solutions
- Policy support for digital and innovation-driven sectors
Despite these advantages, there remains a gap in structured engagement mechanisms that connect European AI innovators with Indian ecosystem players for market access, co-development, and capability building. Europe possesses world-class AI research and innovation capabilities, but organizations increasingly require scalable engineering talent, implementation capabilities, and cost-efficient deployment models. India has emerged as a global hub for AI talent, digital engineering, and (GCCs, creating significant opportunities for EU–India collaboration.
Objective of the Platform:
The platform responds to a clear demand identified by GBI–EEN India to:
- AI capability building
- Support AI-enabled GCC establishment and capability expansion
- Facilitate technology partnerships and co-development
- Accelerate commercialization through structured market access
- Build long-term EU–India digital innovation partnerships
- Support AI-Capability Centre planning
- Facilitate GCC Strategy discussions
- Connect organizations with implementation partners
This initiative will serve as a structured pathway for European organisations to explore India not only as a market, but as a strategic capability hub for their global AI journey.
Objective of Webinar:
The objective of the launch webinar will be to provide European companies and ecosystem stakeholders with a clear understanding of the AI landscape in India, including its key strengths, emerging opportunities, and existing gaps. The session aims to help participants explore how to effectively harness India’s capabilities such as its talent pool, digital infrastructure, and innovation ecosystem to support their AI development and scaling needs.
It will also enable participants to identify and pursue collaboration opportunities, including partnerships, co-development initiatives, and technology transfer models, thereby supporting their broader market access and engagement with the Indian ecosystem.
