Promotion of Agricultural Products: High-Level Mission of European Commissioner Hansen to Japan, June 8-13, 2025

Join the mission and explore new business opportunities!

We would like to inform you that Commissioner Hansen will visit Japan from June 8-13, 2025, accompanied by a business delegation that will include up to 100 senior executives from European companies and agricultural and food sector producer organizations.

This mission will combine official meetings of the Commissioner with Japanese government officials, as well as promotional activities involving the business delegation.

These activities will include:

• Seminars on the characteristics of the local market and consumer trends.
• Visits to retail stores and production facilities.
• Networking opportunities with local stakeholders and businesses.
• Participation in events at the World Expo in Osaka, where the EU has a pavilion. The Commissioner will inaugurate a high-level event to which business representatives are invited to participate.

The entrepreneurs participating in the mission should primarily, but not exclusively, represent the following sectors:

• Meat production, processing, and selling (beef, pork, poultry)
• Processed agricultural products
• Dairy products (with emphasis on cheeses)
• Wine, beer, and alcoholic beverages
• Olive oil
• Fruits and vegetables

The Commissioner wishes to include companies from all EU Member States in the business delegation, focusing particularly on SMEs with reliable export capacity, as well as large companies, and national and European producer organizations from key sectors with significant prospects for EU-Japan trade and cooperation.

Participation & Financial Obligations:

• Senior executives from producer organizations and individual businesses may participate.
• Participants must attend the entire program.
• Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the participants themselves.
• Only one person per company/organization can officially participate in the business mission.
• Accompanying members may attend, but their access to certain events may be restricted due to the size of the mission.
